16. Install drive belt shield. On the studs on the clutch assembly install a cover clip and a conical spring. Secure in place with locknut. This will allow shield to be slipped in position. (See Fig. 8)

17. Position the heat shield over muffler and adjacent to engine. The flap of the deflector is to be positioned against the air cleaner. Secure with clamp provided. (See Fig. 9)

This deflector is provided for winter use and must be removed in warm weather. The deflector directs a flow of warm air around the carburetor and allows for more efficient winter operation of the tractor engine.


There are grease fittings on the Rotary Snow Thrower. Lubricate with general purpose automotive grease every 15 hours of operation. The occasional application of light motor oil to shaft on which the pulleys operate will prolong their life.

Engagement of the Rotary Snow Thrower is accomplished by pushing the clutch handle forward. Pull handle toward the operator for disengagement. This should be a firm positive action.
